Svalbard Ski & Sail

Skiing in the land of the Midnight Sun. Imagine waking up on a sailboat looking out the window at beautiful, glaciated fjords, jumping in a zodiac and cruising past Arctic wildlife, ski touring up a mountain, and then skiing crisp Arctic snow from awe-inspiring peaks to the vibrant, blue ocean – this is a typical day of a Svalbard Ski & Sail with Ice Axe Expeditions. Also, the sun never sets, so we have 24 hours of light shining on the beautiful landscape.

Our team has supported 14 projects to the Arctic island of Svalbard. This is a marketing highlight video for Ice Axe Expeditions showcasing a surreal adventure to one of the most unique and remote ski touring destinations in the world, where sea, mountain, and Arctic environments converge to create an unparalleled experience.

Skiing in Svalbard is a dream come true for adventure seekers, with its pristine, snow-covered peaks, endless glaciers, and dramatic fjords. This is your chance to carve your way through untouched wilderness and witness the awe-inspiring beauty of this Arctic wonderland.

But that’s not all – the Arctic wildlife in Svalbard is a sight to behold! Some trips encounter polar bears, reindeer, Arctic foxes, seals, and more, as they go about their daily lives in this frozen paradise. It’s also a wildlife enthusiast’s dream come true.

To cap off the experience, you certainly won’t forget touring with your ski guide who is required to carry a rifle at all times. Svalbard is home to over 3,000 polar bears and we use extreme caution when ski touring in their environment. An adventure of a lifetime!
